Adam Luckhurst

I am a photographic artist based in Canberra, Australia. I first became passionate about photography in my teenage years when I discovered the joy of watching an image appear in developer in a makeshift darkroom set up in a friend's fruit packing shed. The smell of fixer still takes me back to those early days of photography - experimenting, getting frustrated and occasionally making an image I was pretty happy with.

Despite a brief stint at art school I now enjoy a photographic practice ranging from film, digital and more experimental (and temperamental) mediums. I'm enjoying adopting new approaches and embracing different formats such as pinhole, medium and large format.

While having a strong love of travel photography, my current practice is focussed on the rural environment and climate change, and of showing the beauty of difference.
